The Heritage of Islam
THE HERITAGE OF ISLAM Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to the honourable judges, respected teachers and all my fellow friends. On this glorious morning,I ………………………………would like to share with you my views and opinions in a speech entitled ‘ The heritage of Islam’.
Ladies and gentlemen, What defines as the heritage of Islam? Well, allow me remind you, that there are so many examples of Islamic heritage which include the arts, like Islamic calligraphy, architecture, and poetry. However, in my humble opinion, the ultimate heritage of Islam is the Miracle bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) - The Holy Quran.
According to the definition on Wikipedia, Al-Quran literally means "the recitation". This central religious text of Islam, contains what we Muslims believe to be the word of Allah. It is our Holy Book. We also believe that this Holy Book, had been verbally revealed from Allah, through Jibril, to Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) gradually over a period of approximately 23 years.
We Muslims regard that the Holy Quran as the main miracle of our Prophet Muhammad PBUH, the proof of his prophethood. Al-Quran is also the culmination of a series of divine messages which started with the messages revealed to Adam, who is the first man created by Allah and who is also the first prophet. The holy Quran describes itself as a book of guidance, sometimes offering detailed accounts of specific historical events, and often emphasizing the moral significance of an event over its narrative sequence. The Quran is used along with the hadith to interpret the sharia law.
Ladies and gentlemen, The first verse of Qoran ‘ ‘ was revealed in the Cave of Hira to our prophet,Muhammad PBUH by Jibril. This verse also shows the importance of education to every Muslim. From that moment thereafter, the prophet Muhammad PBUH continued to receive revelations over a period of 23 years. According to hadith of Muslim, after the prophet,Muhammad PBUH emigrated to Medina and formed an independent Muslim community,he ordered a considerable number of his companions to recite the verses of Qoran, appreciate the meanings and teach them the laws of Islam. Initially the messages of Allah was passed verbally by the prophet, the verses were then recorded, by having them written on bones and the wide, flat ends of date palm fronds. This was how the compilation of the Quranic verses were during the times of our prophet,Muhammad PBUH. In addition,we as Muslims believe the Quran to be the book of divine guidance and direction for humanity and consider the text in its original Arabic to be the literal word of Allah, revealed to our prophet,Muhammad PBUH through the Jibrilover a period of twenty-three years and view the Quran as God's final revelation to humanity. We also believe that the Quran has solutions to all the problems of humanity irrespective of how complex we may be and in whatever age or time we live. The Quran frequently asserts in its text that it is divinely ordained, an assertion of our belief.

Ladies and gentlemen, We as Muslims believe that the Quran is different from all other books in ways that are impossible for any other book to be, such that similar texts cannot be written by humans. These include both mundane and miraculous claims. The Quran itself challenges anyone who disagrees with its divine origin to produce a text of a miraculous nature.
In fact, Musa is mentioned more in the Quran than any other individual while Isa is mentioned more often in the Quran than Muhammad while Maryam is mentioned in the Quran more than the New Testament.Muslims believe the common elements or resemblances between the Bible and other Jewish and Christian writings and Islamic dispensations is due to their common divine source, and that the original Christian or Jewish texts were authentic divine revelations given to prophets.
ALLAH says in Qoran verse/s “

As the conclusion for my speech today, I’d like to say that all the books which had revealed by Allah to the earth are a divine heritage - whether the Qoran which was revealed to our prophet,Muhammad PBUH or those which had been revealed to the other prophets before him. All these books which are the great heritage of Islam are not just meant to be kept like a mere historical books, but rather for us to reflect and appreciate the contents, and use it to practise in our daily life and use it as a guide to worship Allah. With this, I thank you for listening. wabillahitaufiqwalhidayahwassalamualaikum….

Islam's development has resulted from major political, economic, and military effect both inside and outside the Islamic world. Muhammad's death in 632 caused disagreements over who would follow him as leader of the Muslim world, thus many different leaders arose. The Umayyad aristocracy viewed Islam as a religion for Arabs only. Islam spread quickly during 750-1258 the era that they call The Golden Age. Muslims believe that Allah revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad who was thought to be God's final prophet, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the words of Muhammad, as the basis of Islam. Islamic tradition says that Judaism and Christianity have distorted the messages of these prophets throughout time either in interpretation. Allah (God) is one and indivisible. They believe in monotheism. "Allah" means God in Arabic God is the one True Creator. The Muslims, like Christians, believe God has always existed and there was no one before him and he will exist forever; he has hold over life and death. (Chapter 112 in Al Quran) The principle scriptures of Islam are the Quran and the Hadith. The Quran is the main book of Islam telling of Allah's revelations to humanity, told through his…

The spread of Islam throughout the world was among the most significant worldwide movements in history. Beginning as the faith of a small community of believers in Arabia in the seventh century, Islam rapidly became one of the major world religions. The core beliefs and culture of this faith is the belief that Muhammad (570-632), a respected businessman in Mecca, a commercial and religious center in western Arabia, received revelations from God that have been preserved in the Qur'an. The core of Islam remains the same today after 1396 years. Islam still translates to “submission” and Muslims still live by the Qur’an and follow the 5 Pillars of Islam. However, throughout the Pre-Islamic, Umayyad, and Abbasid eras, the political structure that governed the societies that followed Islam differed over the years with some minor continuity.…
