The Goonies

It came from my cousin Charles who said the Goonies was one of his favorite childhood movies. After all the research I did and questions I asked I can say without a doubt that this movie is the greatest movie I have ever seen. How else can he say something like that? The fact is that he must not have had a good imagination as a kid. I cant explain what "it" is but when you sit back and experience a movie with "it", it will be forever instilled in your memory. Just look at some of the classic films of that decade. The Goonies is true art for our time. Watching it again almost brought tears to his eyes as he was drawn frame after frame of the drama and suspense. Its such a great story about how friends should stick together no matter what, and how together anything can be done. My mother said she had never seen a worse film in her life. From the clothes, the hair, and the music (by none other then Cyndi Lauper) it just screams the 80s, a time in my opinion when people knew how to have fun and honored great cinematography. My friend Jake says that the Goonies is "one of the worst legitimate films ever made", I think he was drunk or something. I mean this movie does everything a great movie is supposed to do, and does it ten times better. I almost forgot the most important part about this movie, the fact that it was directed by none other than Steven Spielberg. Everyone had a friend like Data, the smart kid with the imagination to match his IQ, and who can forget Chunk who was the fat, clumsy, funny, but lovable friend who you could always count on for a laugh. This movie captures all the magic of the imagination and makes kids want to be kids forever, sort of like Peter Pan did for its audience. ad feedback
