The history of information technology is fascinating! Technology is the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means in order to solve a problem or perform a specific function. Information technology is a wide field, and has enabled organizations across the world to work in an efficient manner. It plays a very important role in effective management and running of a business. It has contributed largely to the process advancements in organizations. The use of information technology applications enable businesses to carry out their functions more effectively in the place of work. Since computerized systems are so widely used, it is advantageous to incorporate information technology into your organization. In the business context, information technology is all about the application of computer operations to business processes. In recent times, IT has replaced the traditional modes of businesses with innovative technologies. One of these systems is the payroll system. An automated payroll system enables the employer to process its payroll through a computerized system. The user will need to input information for each employee when he is hired, but after that, the software will calculate payroll taxes and other deductions automatically. In addition, employees can be trained to run the program more easily, so it won't need to depend on just one person to process payroll. A payroll system may be used in your business especially to non accountant or somewhere you will find it beneficial to lessen your workload. Other example of these systems is an attendance monitoring system that serves as a time log that is set up as a computerized database. An attendance monitoring system maintains a daily record of a person's arrival and departure time from work or school. An attendance monitoring system using biometrics ensures that the person registering is indeed that person and, in addition, prevents students or employees falsely recording the attendance of others.
A payroll system without an attendance monitoring system requires that the end users need to encode credited hours such as hours worked, late, under time, absences, overtime, etc. that is to be used to compute salary and is therefore a considerably slower procedure than the integration of the two system. The current system being operated in the Axle Tire and Service Center is just a Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Office Excel. Since Axle Tire and Service Center is growing this application they are currently using is no longer enough to store bulky records and it is such a waste of time in terms of searching of records. The main problem that they are facing is the insufficiency of automated system that would help the staff eases their work and makes lessen the wastage of time.

* To develop a Personnel Information Management and Payroll System for Axle Tire and Service Center that will help the user in monitoring the attendance and in processing the payroll for the employee.

* To design an attendance monitoring and payroll system that can easily manage by the end user.
