Movie Review: The Fantastic Mr. Fox
After seeing this animated movie, it really had some good qualities for a movie that came out in 2009. Before this movie from Wes Anderson was made, it was based on a book by Roald Dahl. This movie is one of the best-selling & one of the greatest movies ever seen by children. The director actually makes this movie a family type of movie that everyone wants to watch at home. Kids would like this movie a lot better than most others, and parents will find this movie enjoyable as well. It also has great sound effects made by the characters especially when they do Mr. Fox's famous sound, the "click click & whistle" noise after the fox say’s his smart plans he’s about to carry out. This movie is well recommended for all ages to watch it would specifically fit ages within from 2 through 12 years old. The name Fantastic Mr. Fox describes the whole movie, it was a well thought out name that fits ever scene and character in this story. This movie starts out like every other child’s favorite anima. Where the main characters are living in peace for years basically. Here are the main characters of the movie witch are Mr. and Mrs. Fox (the voices are played by George Clooney as Mr. Fox and Meryl Streep as Mrs. Fox.) Ash (voice of Jason Schwartzman) & Kristofferson (voice of Eric Anderson.) The movie is all about the group of these main characters and other animals coming together to fight these rich farmers for what is rightfully theirs. The “Fantastic Mr. Fox” movie basically starts like “Once there was happy a fox family who were living in peace.” Mr. Fox (The Dad) goes and steals food in the dark from these rich farmers. Mrs. Fox (The Mom) she is like a stay at home mom while the dad goes out to work. Ash (The Son) he is the common child that all parents have in an animated movie. Ash is the typical teenager who doesn’t follow the rules at times and likes to risk things and him at anything. Mr. & Mrs. Fox’s nephew Kristofferson (Cousin of Ash) is the

There are two ways to consider this movie; Disney's newest animated entry based on the works of A.A. Milne, or a knowledge guide to mental disorders. Watching the Disney movie, I realized I could diagnose and identify the characters with disorders based on their behaviors. These characters include Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Owl, Tigger, Kanga, Rabbit, Eeore, and Christopher Robin. My personal favorite is the one and only, Christopher Robin.…

This is why Fantastic Mr. Fox is not appropriate for children. A good wholesome children’s movie is one that has a good meaning, an age appropriate story line and does not have the need to swear or “cuss”. Any child that watches this movie may start saying “cuss” when they get angry, because they learned it from this movie when Fox was angry. If…

    Sleepy Hollow Film Review

Blood and murder usually go down a treat for the people who love gore but this is not the case in the movie ‘Sleepy Hollow'. Repetition is the key to an ultimately predictable film. Just as in any other film we see a substance with a resemblance to blood fall onto a piece of paper. This tells our minds the movie will have elements of horror. Then two hands, male and female, clasp. A headless horseman then appears decapitating an innocent man on the run in the woods. This all sets the rest of the film as a romantic horror. There is still one element that is left to be seen but not to worry. While the ghoulish headless horseman is out decapitation people Ichabod Crane, a detective from New York, is having a hard time keeping a straight face. The expression of utter disgust as he finds a body in the river is comical enough as it stands. Now as he is sent to Sleepy Hollow (a near by village where the headless horseman lies) to try and get his head around the gruesome decapitations of the people. His fear of bugs makes him an easy target and often means this film becomes comedy…

And what I like about this movie is, easy for us to remember every scene. Just like at the beginning of the movie. When Sulley roars like Chris Bosh at a mechanical kid! Honestly, I’ll only enjoy a movie when something stocked in my head and when I reacted so much on that scene. That’s what I had noticed to myself while watching movies. Cute movie that has friendly monsters. Although it's not the best Pixar film, it's good. The monsters aren't very scary maybe because it’s a kiddy cartoon movie. Even though their job is to scare kids, they're more scared of the kids themselves, although one monster traps a little girl. Kids can handle it if they're not very sensitive of monsters. There are some positive messages in this film: Sulley and Mike help take care of a little girl despite being wary of humans.…

The film adaptation/imagination of Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox deviates from the source material in positive ways and introduces an interesting father-son subplot between the titular protagonist and his son(s). At the start of the film, Mr. Fox and his son Ash have difficulties communicating with each other. An ambitious and upward thinking individual, Mr. Fox is less than thrilled with his son’s wiry frame and lack of athletic ability. Ash falls short of the “ideal” athletic masculine archetype that Mr. Fox likes to think of himself as, so when the naturally athletic Kristofferson comes to stay with the Foxes, Mr. Fox naturally gravitates towards a father-son relationship with Kristofferson. This causes Ash to feel tension and jealousy because he sees Kristofferson as a rival for his father’s attention. As the movie progresses and…

Roald Dahl’s 1970 children’s novel “Fantastic Mr. Fox” tells the story of other fox aptly named Mr. Fox (voiced by George Clooney), a sly and daring chicken, duck, turkey and cider thief. When Boggis (Robin Hurlstone), Bunce (Hugo Guinness) and Bean (Michael Gambon), the three meanest farmers in the land, realize Mr. Fox has been stealing from their farms, they will stop at nothing to catch the culprit. Dahl’s book is only about 80 pages long, written at a 3rd or 4th grade reading level, suffice to say Anderson had a bit of work to do in order to stretch it into an 87 minute movie.…

Stranger Than Fiction, directed by Mark Forster, is an unusual movie. I personally liked the movie very much, but it was definitely out of the mainstream of movies today. The main character, Harold Krick (played by Will Ferrell) is a seemingly normal IRS agent that lives life on a very punctual and precise schedule. He is always on time for things and even counting the number of times he brushes his teeth in the morning! The character that Ferrell acts is not the typical character that Ferrell works on, but it is a very good change for him because it somewhat makes the audience think that there will be something comedic in the movie. As a whole, the cast was a very good choice and fit the characters well. The movie is very delightful because it shows various different themes in it. For example, the movie contains a sprinkle of bildungsroman qualities through the character development in Harold Krick.…

Many animated movies had been made and shown throughout the years. There were those who covered great animations, few were so-so, and most were two thumbs up. Being an animated film fan, I chose Kung Fu Panda for a movie review, although there are movies I have watched that are better than this. This is because some failed to internalize the lines or script that this film have. I have seen this film once and only during the recent semester break, October 2009, that we had. Yes Kung Fu Panda has a plot as old as the hills, but this clever, touching, humorous, action-packed movie seems fresh as the morning paper.…
