The Evolution of Sport Communication has been through many changes throughout the years. This can include anything from as simple as the newspaper, to as complex as the mass media and the internet. Sport communication is the engine that reaches out to sport fans and its audience in the sport industry. Without sport communication, proper coverage of scores, up to date news, and issues within sport would not be communicated in a timely matter. The newspaper is on way to communicate to sport fans, but the drawback is that it downplays the impact. Usually being the newspaper is communicated several hours after the event happens. One means of communication that I feel is best is the internet or electronic media. In today’s era, modern technology has it where people have the ability to obtain virtually any and everything with the simple click of a mouse. Information is accessed through varies websites like ESPN, without even leaving the comfort your own home. The internet is for all types of race, age, ethnic groups, and etc. Marketers target specific groups based on demographics whether it is age, occupation, race, ethnicity, and so forth. Websites are clear and specific with colorful details to entice viewers. Information is updated frequently, therefore, giving a sport fan the much needed information they may desire. Sport communication plays a vital role in the sport industry. With the evolution of advanced technologies and the mass media, the sport industry is only going to get bigger in the future. The communication of sport has the most powerful influences on today’s society and the lives we live.
