General Purpose:  To inform
Specific Purpose:   To inform the audience about the dropping of the atomic bomb Thesis Statement:  The creation of the Manhattan Project, the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the aftermath are events that changed the world forever.

I. Attention Getter: Boom! Can you imagine a white light that blinds you instantly and a sonic boom that bust’s your eardrums? Probably not because if you can you probably have experienced an atomic bomb. II. Topic:  Having relatives that where in World War 2 and going over to Europe to visit World War 2 sites made myself want to learn more about this topic. III. Credibility:  Through my research I have learned there is much more that went into the dropping of the atomic bomb. IV.  Relevance:  Think about how our lives would be different if it would not have happened and how they are because it did. V. Preview:  Today I want to talk about how the atomic bomb became to be, the dropping of the atomic bomb on the two cities, and how it changed our lives and lives around the world. Transition: Let me start with how the atomic bomb was created.

 I. According to Dayton University in August 1939, President Roosevelt was alerted about the German’s creating a uranium based bomb.                            A. With this the United States created the secret agency known as the Manhattan Project.                                                      1. This project created numerous facilities and production plants to produce nuclear weapons.                                                      2. Much of the time went to creating and figuring out how to split Uranium.                             B. President Roosevelt handed the project over to Lieutenant Groves in 1942 and after that the project went along very quickly.                                                      1....
