The Difference between National, International, and Global Businesses
In this case study I am going to explain reason why each business is national, International or global. I will also research on the primary, secondary and tertiary of four businesses.
Primary sector:
This involves growing, extracting or converting natural resource into raw materials.
Secondary sector:
This manufactures goods and converts raw materials into products for sale to business and private individuals.
Tertiary sector:
This provides service to business and individuals.
Tesco:
Tesco is defined as a global business because; it has a large number of stores in 14 countries across Asia, Europe and North America. However Tesco is the tertiary sector because it doesn't make the products it sells it just provides a service; to costumers, but it buys products in from the primary and secondary sectors. It’s also the leader grocery market leader in the UK; it has a market share of 30%. However Tesco can also be part of the secondary sector as it also makes fresh produce; provide customers with fresh food everyday, but this is only in some Tesco stores.

Oxfam:
Oxfam is a global charity that helps people all over to improve their lives by giving them a free service. The reason why Oxfam is global is as they try to get to many people around the global and to help them in every way possible and more people are affected around the globe. Oxfam is a tertiary business as they provide clothes for charity and help the people in need.

EBay:
EBay is a global business as it ships items all over the world, as it gains more costumers and provides good customer service. EBay lets customer’s resident across Europe shop for products from sellers worldwide who will ship to your location. EBay is in the secondary sector as this business sells items and products online

Tesco is an international Public Limited Company. Tesco has over 500,00 employees in 12 countries. Under the Tesco Group there are a number of sister companies such as Tesco Ireland, Tesco Poland and Tesco Lotus. In addition, Tesco offers other services such as Tesco Bank which is also a part of the organisation. [1] From my research, it states that Tesco is a part of the tertiary sector as it is retailing by selling a range of products from groceries to electronics. Tesco also offers services such as loans with Tesco Bank .In my opinion it’s also is a part of the secondary sector . For example, Tesco bakes fresh bread on site and then sells in its sorts so therefore it is a part of both of these sectors. Additionally Tesco has its own Mobile Network which offers Pay as you go and Pay Monthly options. You can also buy mobile devices such as the iPhone 5C. [2]…

The primary sector is focused extracting raw materials. The reason that this sector is declining is because businesses are struggling to find the materials to extract. Natural resources are running out and the profit available to these businesses in the past has been decreasing rapidly. This is because companies are now buying from developing countries, where the cost of extraction is cheaper. Automation and machinery has replaced many jobs in the primary sector, causing the number of workers in the primary sector to move over into work in the tertiary and partly secondary sector as the jobs in those sectors are more secure and safe.…
