The Secret Effects of Abortion
The procedure takes care of the mother’s original “problem”; little does she know that many secret consequences are to follow. Abortion is the surgical ending to a pregnancy. There are several ways an abortion be achieved. Women have abortions for many different reasons. There are many negative side effects to having an abortion. Some repercussions are obvious, well known, and expected by women when they have abortions. There are also consequences that not many people are aware of. (Elliot Institute). Letting women know about these usually unknown side effects, may result in the woman thinking twice about their decision to kill an innocent child. Abortion is a terrible act of violence that rips apart lives, it rips apart the mother and the father individually and also the mother and the father as a couple. Abortion is a very controversial subject in the world today. It is greatly debated among politicians and between pro-life and pro-choice activists. The right or wrong answer to this issue has not been discovered yet and will most likely be debated for a long time. There are multiple types of abortions. A mother can receive an abortion in her first, second, and unbelievably third trimester. (NRLC). In the first trimester there are more options for the abortion. A woman can receive suction aspiration which is when a suction tube with a sharp edge is inserted into the womb. It cuts up the baby and tears the placenta from the wall of the uterus. It sucks all of the pieces into a collection bottle. (NRLC). Two options that are similar are called RU 486 and Methotrexate. RU 486 is a pill, using synthetic hormones to block progesterone, which is the hormone that gives the necessary nutrients to the baby. (The Abortion Pill). So the baby will starve and 36 to 48 hours later the woman is given medicine to induce labor so that the now non-living...
