The Covets There are many things in the universe that are still yet to be discovered. Are there other forms of life out there somewhere? Are there other planets that we do not know about that can support life? There is a species of aliens that no one knows about. They are called the Covets. Although most aliens are thought of as little green Martian men, the Covets are very intelligent creatures who do not partake in much entertainment and are just strange. The Covet aliens have a biology all their own. Male Covets are blood red; if a human were to see them, it would look like they were bleeding from every orifice on their body. Females are a very bright orange that looks almost red. Both males and females have large, green eyes. To go along with their large eyes, they also have very large heads. Covets have no hair, fur, feathers, or wings. They are able to regulate their body temperature all on their own. Covets have fingers and toes that are very much like humans’; they have five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot. To breathe, Covets have gills on their necks. They have noses, but it serves no purpose other than for smelling things. In order to communicate with one another, the Covets have their own language known as Covetian. When they speak it sounds very much like a dolphin. There are many clicks and squeaks involved when speaking. Culture is extremely important for the Covets. This species has very unusual mating rituals (Matsuo 134). In mating, male Covets have large antennas protruding from their heads to attract females. The bigger the antenna is, the more likely a female will be attracted to it. The Covets mate through the males rubbing their antennas on the females’ heads. If a female is impregnated, she will immediately start to show within several days. The gestation period for a baby Covet is three years. The Covets practice marriage.
