The hotels that I have chosen are the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Aston Shores at Waikoloa. Obviously, my resort location is Waikoloa, Hawaii.
I believe the Hilton Hotel connects to the customer better because it is a National chain and in a way, it is a "familiar face" in an unfamiliar setting. The Hilton also has more location options than any independent company. Also, because the Hilton hotel chain is a national one, there is more money to create more customer pleasing amenities. However, Aston Shores, being an independent hotel, may be more able to adjust to customer's needs.
Both the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Aston Shores resort made their hotel easy to find by having their own websites as listed below in my bibliography. Besides this, both hotels are listed on expedia.com as well as Travelocity.com as good options when traveling in Hawaii. If I had to choose one over another, I would choose the Hilton hotel because they advertise on all different sites in all different ways.
Technology makes both hotels' reservation process easier because the guest can enter the information himself and when the guest arrives, their information is all there.
Honestly, after looking at both hotels' websites, I would have to say that the Hilton Waikoloa Village has the competitive advantage.
