Introduction
Education is a purposeful step in personal development. Learning comparable with those at the level of one person, and at the state level, which is confirmed by achieving national statutory those or other educational levels. These levels are formed in accordance with the development of branches and areas of science, technology, culture, depending on the requirements of employers, manufacturing in general and influenced by public opinion and requests. I understand the "Education" as a kind of human activity in order to attain an appropriate level of knowledge, skills, abilities or their improvement Also Education For me it is the driving force of progress. She performs the following socio-cultural functions: • a way socialization of personality and continuity of generations; • the environment of communication and engagement with the world of values, science and technology; • accelerating the process of development and growth as an individual, entity, individuality; • provides for the formation of spirituality in man and its vision, values ​​and moral principles

In this paper I want to compare the educational system in Sweden and Ukraine. Since I consider it one of the key aspects of our life, which in my opinion affects personality development and the subsequent quality of life in society. Also, I was interested in this topic because the education system in my country and Sweden differ significantly. I also want to consider the historical development of the educational system of each country. However, the main purpose of my work is not the best choice of the system, and only analysis of the history, applications, and opportunities.

In the seventeenth century, following Gustav Adolphus' attempts to improve and expand university education in Sweden, the nation imposed a sense of civic responsibility on local communities, asking them to provide elementary education for the well being of the citizenry. Church law limited the focus of the curriculum to reading and religious instruction, the purpose being more to elevate or save the souls of children than to elevate their minds. In 1842, the voluntary aspect of education was removed, and law introduced compulsory education. From that time, the curriculum became more expansive, and the focus no longer was on Bible readings by 1870, but on a broad range of academic subjects.In the 19th century Sweden rapidly transformed from an agricultural, traditional society into an industrialised society. During this industrialisation and also democratisation the well-known Swedish model developed(1920s). By this is the specific model of social welfare system meantIt was characterized by centralism, universalism and cooperation between the capital and labour. At that time the focus was on developing a (social) welfare system this includes also focus on the education system. In this inclusive and centralised welfare state, science was a tool for modernising society in large reforms. The peak was reached in the 1970s.
