The Challenges of Christian Communication in a Secular World

The Challenges of Christian Communication in a Secular World We, as Christians, face many challenges in our lives as everyone does, and one of them being communication. What is the meaning of the word communication? Communication means the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs. Which are things that one must do in their everyday life, and in this day in age our society is filled with very many aspects of communication. Christian communication is expressed among believers, and the world as a whole. Romans 14:19 reads Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification meaning as believers we should uplift and have mutual respect one another. As Christian believers, we should believe firmly in glorifying God’s word, and applying it to our everyday life. Secularism is rampant and becoming extremely out of control due to the morals and values of people. The spirituality of Christians should be rooted deeply in the workplace, family life, and marriage. One of the first challenges we deal with is stress in the workplace as we are exposed to people that have different backgrounds and outlooks on religion. God wants us to be able to work and be productive while working but also to spread the word of his great inner workings. Being a Christian means that you divinely believe in God and know he has control of your life. The working environment is a great opportunity to communicate with your fellow coworkers, and also learn about people outside of church activities or the bible. You shouldn’t try to convert the beliefs of others but give the insight on why our God is awesome, and deserves their praise. If you are truly a Christian, you will be a walking witness to what to the world to show the love of our sovereign father. Always be a model Christian possessing the personality of believer by being attentive, nice heartwarming and honest. You shouldn’t go into the workplace criticizing people for the sins they have committed as they will not listen and won’t get an understanding of word of God. As Romans 14:13 reads Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way. They will view you has a hypocrite who could not give insight on any values one must possess when they are a believer. There should be open levels of communication and trust amongst you and fellow co-workers. You should advise them that Christians are not perfect we all make mistakes and anyone of us could have the same fate. We should be humble and show our appreciation for all the blessing that he has bestowed upon us. We should always want to be Christ like in all work related situations. To be an effective Christian you must also understand that there are non believers. They will demean you and make you feel as if there is no truth to God. You have to be strong, and believe that people have their own mind, and they believe what they want. Don’t let their unclean thoughts persuade you to think otherwise. In order for us to give advisement to other on God we must be have firsthand knowledge. We must be willing to go to the further point to prove that God’s inner workings are the best route. Colossians 3:16 states Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. In this society we also view secularism in the media, and in the world has a whole. On every channel and corner you see people in their midst of wrong doing and committing sins. There are so many negative things in the media and one could get the impression that those things are morally okay. There is infidelity, hate crimes, and murders just to name a few that are common in everyday mainstream media. We as Christians have to be...
