The Blind Side
The Blind Side is an original film based on a remarkable true story about a young, homeless African-American, Michael Oher (played by Quinton Aaron). A 17-year-old Michael, oversized, under-educated young man who has been in foster cares with different families. Michael went to into foster care because his mom could not care for him because of her drug addiction. He didn’t know who his father was. Every time he is sent to a new home, he runs away. He didn’t have a place to stay or sleep for that matter due to his family being separated when he was quite young. That is until the Leigh Anne Touhy (played by Sandra Bullock) takes him into her home. The Touhys are a white wealthy Christian family that doesn’t seem to have a huge problem with racial differences, however they do acknowledge that there is. In the end Michael became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick and he also became a part of Touhys family. This is an inspirational movie that all families should see. The movie was very touching, it had good messages, great role models and a very truly inspiring main character. Sandra Bullock’s character was the most interesting one for me. She played Leigh Anne Tuohy, a wealthy woman with a great heart. She adopted Michael, a big black kid who was very shy and careless. A movie like The Blind Side is an eye-opening contrast to those of us who take the littlest things for granted like even owning...
