To me, February is a peculiar month of the year. A month made desolate and gloomy due to the frequent snowstorms and windstorms, February is definitely not one of my preferred months to live through. With schoolwork in full swing and not many activities to engage oneself in because of the frigid weather, the second month of the year has proven to be one of the least enjoyable for me.
But in retrospect, months like these are vital for human efficiency and productivity, as February is reminder for most people who go to school or have a job that it is time to function at full potential to prepare for the end of the semester or work season. Without times like these, many people would be engaging in outdoor activities or socializing with friends during the summer, and not making much progress with their workload. February encourages people to stay indoors, become operative and in gear, and promotes more intellectual activities.
Although the weather in February limits a plethora of traditional outdoor activities, I do treasure the frosty, powdery scene created by fresh snowfall. Being able to go outdoors while there is an extensive amount of snow on the ground is a valuable opportunity for people who live in areas with a lot of snow. Frolicking in the snow may seem frivolous and childlike, but even at the age of eighteen it is one of my most beloved past times. With the arrival of February comes substantial snowfall, and year after year I will be found with my friends outdoors in the frosty climate, making snowmen or just enjoying the serenity of the wintery landscape.
Lastly, February also impacts the fashion aspect of my life, especially since it is an indoor month. It is relieving to wear a baggy sweatshirt and sweatpants every once in a while, and everyday in February is an opportunity to do that. To me, these are clothes to watch movies in, which is another aspect of life that February allows me to catch up on. Altogether, even though February means...
