The growth in the number of obese people in America is alarming. Many of us have had problems controlling our weight and why not with so much temptation around us. The problem everyone should consider when losing weight is not only how can we lose weight but also what is the healthiest way to do so. As a dieter who have tried the Atkins Diet resulting in a weight loss of 15 pounds within the first 15 days. It is safe to say the Atkins Diet does work. Problem is the diet plan was hard to keep to and after reverting back to eating regularly almost all the weight lost was gained back. So the search for another way to lose weight and keep it off continued, leading to the discovery of The Food Lovers Diet. While the Atkins Diet is successful in getting off the weight, The Food Lovers Diet is healthier and more effective in keeping off the weight.
Primarily the Atkins Diet is a diet high in protein and low in carbohydrates. It turns your body into a fat burning machine, because dieters eat foods that increase their metabolism. This diet relies mostly on vegetables rich in fiber, and foods high in protein, like eggs, chicken, and beef as the body’s primary food source. One of the goals of this diet is to change the balance between carbohydrates, fats, and protein in your body, keeping your metabolism on an even keel resulting in a boost in energy level. The Atkins Diet also helps stop your craving for energy boosters such as sugar and starchy foods and helps with curving hunger. Notably with the Atkins diet focusing more on protein and less on carbohydrates it helps jump start dieters metabolism.
It is important to remember there are benefits and disadvantages to all diets but let us weigh them in the case of the Atkins Diet. One benefit of the Atkins

Although the science behind this diet is very sound, it is quite difficult to carry out. “To switch your body from burning primarily carbohydrates (in the form of glucose) to burning primarily fat (including your body fat) for energy.” (Atkins) The first overall step to the Atkins diet which sounds relatively simple, but in all actuality is quite difficult.     What is Atkins Diet? The Atkins Diet is also known as the Atkins Nutritional Approach. It was made by Dr. Atkins, an American cardiologist. Atkins Diet was developed by reducing one’s carbohydrate intake. The body is an engine; carbs are the gas that makes it go. Low carb –Atkins is a modern and science diet based on energy metabolism. The principle of this mode is to cut the total amount of carbohydrates in the body because carbohydrates are the main culprits causing excess fat in the abdominal area and sweets cravings. By implementing Low Carb combination of exercise, the body will burn fat faster, people will win obesity in the shortest time that is most comfortable eating (compared to all the other diets). Proponents of the Atkins diet say that it can prevent or ameliorate many diseases, including high blood pressure, and reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Atkins Diet freely allows to eat green vegetables, fruits, potatoes, bread, but still reduce weight. It is critical that the dose and method especially in carbohydrate ratio. Instead of providing protein from animal fat, one move to supplement beneficial fat that is good for health including soy bean, nuts, seeds (e.g. sunflower seeds), fruits and vegetables. Approximately 31% of calories from vegetable protein, 43% from oil / vegetable fat, and 26% from carbs. Previously, the old Atkins brought coffee to the list of things crossed, but now, the new version Atkins encourages to drink coffee because it contains antioxidants, helps burn fat and contributes to weight loss.
