The Advantages and Disadvantages of Tuition

Back in those days, tuition was not necessary as education was not so emphasized. But nowadays, many students prefer to go tuition because they believe it can help them achieve success in examination. They may sign up for tuition either because they are forced by their parents or just out of their own willingness. Some students decide on studying by themselves. However, deciding on taking tuition have great pros and cons on students achievement and life.

Students who attend tuition can study in a suitable environmental condition. For example, an air – conditioned room with only twenty students is an ideal place to study. Students’ minds are more relaxed besides they feel comfortable compared to a class where only the electric fans are fixed. Nobody likes to sweat! In such a case, it causes the students to be so uncomfortable and smelly. So, a perfect environment condition is vital for students to concentrate in what is taught.

Furthermore, tutors in private tuition are less strict. Thus, they are more acceptable. Timid students cannot ask questions to their teachers because they are scared. They are afraid if they will be scolded. In certain of time, they do not understand what is taught. It causes difficulties when examination is near. Avoiding asking teachers can really affect their grades. Such students feel more confident in tuition classes. Tutors can be more patient and allow students to take their time.

However, tuition can sometimes be too costly. For instance, one subject may cost more than fifty dollars per month. So, if a student decides to take six subjects, he will probably have to pay around six hundred dollars. This additional expenses is a burden, so for poor students, they cannot afford to pay. Eventually, they need to depend on school teachers for help. Actually, the money spend on tuition can be used for other things such as buying revision books for furthering studies in the future.
