Subject: The advantages and disadvantages of owning an iPod Touch vs. an iPad

Here is the report you requested earlier in the semester. I am a computer science major and am fascinated with the fast-paced world of technology. Therefore, I’ve decided to look deeper into the specifics of the iPod Touch and the iPad to see their differences and ultimately decide which one is better overall.

Basically I will try to cover the advantages and disadvantages of both the iPod Touch and the iPad. And since they are closely related and manufactured by the same company, I will also focus on key parts such as their: mobility, reliability, and compatibility.

I want to thank the person I interviewed, Eric Gerren, for assisting me with insightful information and demonstrations of the two products and their associated functions. I also want to thank the community of the World Wide Web for providing helpful information that was relevant to my topic.

Lastly, I want to thank Dr. William Rivers for letting me write this insightful report that may benefit someone out there seeking to find a product such as described that will suit their preference.

ABSTRACT

This study looks at two products, the iPod Touch and the iPad, both of which are similar in design and performance with subtle differences in between. And through various scenarios and experiments, it will be evident to see which one of these will outperform the other through aspects such as their mobility, reliability, and compatibility. The study will go further into depth explaining each critical attribute associated with the product, ultimately making one of these recent innovations stand further apart from the other.

INTRODUCTION

Purpose, Scope, and Limitations

The purpose of this report is to determine which product is best overall. The report also tries to show which product is more suitable for certain situations as in having one of these products on the go and seeing how mobile it would become when being in tight places or how accessible it would become when having to just take it out and put it back in wherever it belongs quickly and efficiently. The scope of the report is going to focus on the products mobility, reliability, and compatibility. These different attributes will determine which product shall be the one that outperforms the other through different tests of comparison. As far as limitations go, the only thing that may hinder true results of this research is a hardware or software defect in the product.
