Thanksgiving Day

It was Thursday morning and all I saw was my mom in the kitchen getting the turkey ready; while, my dad was getting the ladder from outside so my sisters can start bring the Christmas decorations down from the attic. It’s a big and fun day for all of us especially for me because I get to spend quality time with my family just like any other year.

Every year in Thanksgiving Day I wake up at 6am to help my mom get everything together for our lunch. We turn on the oven to 375 F; while, my mom was getting the turkey ready. I was doing the mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and much more. My other three sisters sleep until 8am mean time my mom, dad and I are eating breakfast. They get up, eat breakfast and my younger sister is already up in the attic getting all of thee Christmas decorations, for example; lights, tree, Santa with the reindeer.

Mean time, I’m looking out for the turkey so it won’t get over cooked. I start doing the stuffing and getting the biscuits ready. I go outside with my sister’s to help my dad with all of the decorations. It’s all lot of fun setting everything up. Especially when we have to put the lights on the roof, with the Santa and the reindeer on top of the house and finally we always have to put the snowball with the 8ft. Penguin in our front yard. We finish doing that and we move on to the inside of the house. I start to set up the table with all the plates, cups and tableware. My family start’s to getting there at the house around twelve noon. Usually what we do is who ever is coming to the house brings something like, for instance; cokes, cheesecake, pecan pie and you can’t forget the pumpkin pie. It’s finally one in the afternoon and all of my family is at home getting ready to say grace and eat our delicious turkey with mashed potatoes and corn. We all get together around the table and we hold our each other hands and say thanks. We take a seat and start eating. While, we are eating we are remembering...
