Texting Should be banned in All States

Mobile devices have become very useful in our society today. One of the most impact features that we use on mobile phones is texting. Texting is the exchange of brief written messages between fixed-line phone and fixed or portable devices over a network. Even though texting has changed our way of communicating, it is also one of the main reasons for car accidents and deaths. Texting while drive leads to increased distraction behind the wheel. Innocent peoples lives have been taken away due to texting yet texting have not been banned in all states. "It is a complex problem. We may have gotten ourselves into an addiction that we might not be able to get out of." So says David Strayer, who studies cellphones and driving at the University of Utah. Let’s start off describing what distraction is. Distraction is defined as the cause of a person trying to do two or more activities simultaneously. For instance the use of texting while driving. Many people resort to the use of cell phone while driving which is a dangerous practice. People cannot seem to resist picking up calls and replying to messages. When a driver engages in texting behind the wheel he or she tends to ignore road signs and fails to keep watch on the road which can cause accidents. Most young drivers think that texting behind the wheel is a simple task that does not lead into consequences. If you are one of those people than you are truly mistaken because there have been numerous of cases that texting behind the wheel has become one of the main reasons for fatal deaths on the roads.
