The characters in his short stories are experiencing heartache and a breakdown of the connection and communication in their relationship that mimic the peculiar fact of the need to communicate more to form and strengthen their relationship. Although they have a glimmer of communication some may be fantasising about an unrealistic idea and the desire to reinforce their communication skills as they await the light at the end of the tunnel. Other characters relationships have the correct amount of communication that doesn’t break the bond they have within the relationship.
