What is it? Terrorism is the use of terror and violence that people use to get what they want whether it’s money or just a willful act. Terrorism happens every day around the world. Terrorism rates have increased over the last ten years. In this essay I will be talking about the Boston bombing. In the month of April there was a record of over fifteen terrorist attacks including in the United States. On April 15, 2013, during a marathon in Boston two bombs exploded just meters away from the finishing line. The bomb exploded during the marathon which was held on Boylston Street. During the bombing two people were killed and over two hundred people were injured. Three days later, one of the suspects, Tarmelan Tsarnaeav was killed during a shootout with the police.

Also on May 22, 2013 Lee Rigby was killed by two assailants during the time he was off duty. Mr. Rigby was run over by a car before he was stabbed to death. The two men were to believe that they were British Muslims. Lee Rigby was a 25 year old soldier of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Countries that have been affected by this kind of terrorism should step up their security measures to ensure that people don’t transport these kinds of weapons wherever they are going. Also lethal weapons should not be sold to any civilian if they do not have a licensed to have one. My reasons for this is in order for weapons like these to be carried around by anyone can be fatal. People can used this as a way to get what they want whenever they want because they can hold people as hostages until they do.
