India contains various religions which carry out their own ways on achieving their weddings. One religion is Telugu and it carries out their weddings in a different manner than the other religions. Telugu is similar to the Hindu religion. It contains many Hindus people. Telugu has not always been Telugu; it has changed throughout time into other religions like Islam and Christianity. There are temples in which these religious is practiced and they are praying to a god from India. There’s two gods which are Rava and Siva.
This wedding contains rituals that are performed before the wedding, while the wedding is going on, and also after the wedding. For people who believe in this religion and execute these weddings the first important thing is to make sure that the date is settled. However, this day isn’t selected by the people that are getting married, they hire an astrologer and this astrologer chooses a date and time for this occasion to take place. After the date has been settled, preparations are bought and are beginning to get placed in their places. Most of these wedding are very showy and very colorful.
The rituals that are performed in these weddings all contain a very religious significance. Some of the brides and grooms include a couple of pujas so that the wedding can be done faster and easier without any major problems. Pujas are rituals that are performed in these wedding by many Hindu religions. It is when you make connections with the divine through prayers, rituals, and songs. Within the Telugu wedding the father hands the bride to the groom, the audience could feel very eager to watch this occur. Also, once the bride is given to the groom, the groom ties something called the mangalsutra around the bride’s neck. A mangalsutra is a gold ornament strung from a yellow thread, a string of black beads or a gold chain.
