The Power of Technology
Technology has grown and advanced so much that humans are able to learn about the whole world and what resides in it just by the click of a button. These advances in technology may seem to be great and ideal for a better future, however are they really for the best for the human race? In my opinion, technology has manipulated our minds in ways we do not recognize. It has created world so powerful that no human could know the secret. The secret, you may ask, would be manipulation.

There have been many signs of how technology manipulates humans. For example the world of internet has advanced in such a short time and a great amount that it can be known as a different world now. Before the advance in technology humans were more active and social. Through the internet, humans are able to contact each other, however when they meet in person, the conversation seems to get awkward. Technology has changed the meaning of being social. Social was once considered a man or woman to be when they would go out and talk to people; have a lot of contacts. Now social has the meaning of how many friends one has on Facebook, or followers on Twitter or Instagram. There’s a whole world of Social Networking. This world of social networking has manipulated many humans into sitting behind a computer or phone and chatting daily without even being aware of their surroundings.

If technology were to advance at the rate it is in the 2st century, there will be a world filled with technological solutions for everything possible in the world. A writer named E. M. Foster once wrote a story similar to the concept. The story was called, “The Machine Stops.” This story described a world in which most of the human population had lost the ability to live on the surface of the Earth. Each individual lived in isolation below ground in a standard “cell.” This cell was capable of every human need possible; food, clothes, television, anything a human can ask was given inside...
