Team Building Worksheet
1. The only team member that I discussed results with was Shamika Boyd. Unfortunately I never received a response from Marquita Gainey. Shamika had high scores in attitude, communication, and money. I also had a high score in attitude however some of my lower scores were communication and money. Shamika had low scores in health and time. I had a high score in time, which surprised me but my score for communication was in the middle. My high results besides attitude and time was in diversity. My other low score, besides money and communicating was in tests. A low score in tests was not a surprise to me because I’ve never been a very good test taker. I did not hear back from Shamika on what her results were with the developing your multiple intelligences exercise. I wasn't surprised by my results at all. I've always leaned more towards the Verbal/Linguistic and Intrapersonal type while leaning away from Mathematical/Logical and Musical/Rhythmic. I know I have no musical abilities or rhythm as learned when my parents tried to make me take piano lessons, then ballet lessons and those were both disasters. My note taking has been a skill that I developed over time but has become one of my best attributes in classes.
2. Having diversity on a team is important. One advantage is that when people come from different backgrounds or cultures they can bring a different perspective to the table. They may also view a situation or circumstance differently than others and can bring new ideas on how to proceed. You have a broader range of possibilities when there is diversity. No one will look at a problem or project the same way. The team will learn from one another and new ideas will be shared and expanded upon within the group. There can be many challenges when working in a team, due to diversity. There may be disagreements over the validity of an idea that one person brings to the table if others are not able to understand where they are coming... [continues]
