CONFIRMING KNOWLEDGE OF THE
WILSON HIGH SCHOOL REQUIREMENT OF A COMPLETED
GRADUATE CAREER PORFOLIO
TO WALK THE STAGE AT THE
WILSON HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONY
TO BE HELD ON (TBD)
The Superintendent of Schools, John Deasy, has made it school policy to require a Graduate Career Portfolio of every Los Angeles Unified School District high school graduate. Moreover, a high school graduate who has not satisfactorily attained competencies appropriate to stated life goals may exercise the warranty concept by returning to Los Angeles Unified School District, Division of Adult and Career Education for further training, which will be available, without cost, for one year, from the date of graduation.
A Graduate Career Portfolio is one way to help students achieve higher levels of competency and to raise student self esteem. It also allows employers to acknowledge that students are worthy of employment.
The Graduate Career Portfolio consists of documents which show how well a student has progressed in high school. It is a process that allows everyone to focus on the educational and career goals of your student. It contains items such as a personal resume; personal statement; letters of recommendation, a cover-letter and any other pertinent information such as awards and certificates.
Portfolios are due around three weeks before graduation. They are to be given to your counselor, if they have not been turned in earlier.
Please sign and date in the spaces provided acknowledging that you have received and understand the statement sin this Official Declaration. Please have your graduating son or daughter return this Official Declaration to the Career Center.
