Introduction:
Tobacco smoke and other forms of tobacco use impose a large and growing public health burden globally. It is the leading cause of preventable death in developed and developing countries. Assuming current smoking trends continue, as many as 650 million of the people alive today will die from smoking-related disease. Within several decades, 10 million people will die annually from smoking-related disease, making smoking the largest cause of death throughout the world. Fortunately, there is an effective and widely recognized tool to combat tobacco consumption is taxation. Increasing taxes and prices is recognized worldwide as the single most cost‐effective measure of tobacco control and a critical component of a comprehensive tobacco control strategy. Here we have analyzed different types of data from different aspects which are related to tobacco and have included different measures those should be imposed by government to maximizing social welfare. What is ‘Tobacco’?

Tobacco is an agricultural crop processed from the leaves of plants in the genus Nicotiana.. It is grown all over the world and supports a billion-dollar industry. It can be consumed, used as a pesticide and, in the form of nicotine tartrate, used in some medicines. It is most commonly used as a drug, and is a valuable cash crop for countries such as Cuba, India, China, and the United States. Tobacco is a name for any plant of the genus Nicotiana of the Solanaceae family (nightshade family) and for the product manufactured from the leaf and used in cigars and cigarettes, snuff, and pipe and chewing tobacco.
