Life isn’t easy. There isn’t a cheat sheet or an instructions manual to tell you how to sail through life smoothly. Even though life has its ups and downs like rough tides during a storm in the sea, there are influences that will keep you afloat, moving forward, with a head held high. There was a time in my life when things were quite bleak; a time where I was on the brink of losing myself. As nice as it would have been to have my very own “easy button” from Staples, I learned that people and my environment can make life worthwhile. Finding a dream, a purpose, a hobby, or even an obsession is a great starting point to the road of happiness. If there is something to look forward to, then it’s something worth leaving the past behind for. I created a new goal for myself, to enter university and become a nurse. Besides a purpose in life, I found new interests like watching shows, dramas, and Justin Bieber. I’ve strengthened my passion for the arts as well. Art has been a positive influence in my life since it expresses my emotions in a creative visual and vocal way. Thanks to my love for art, I am more confident in sharing my talent with others like when I sung at the talent show. As ridiculous as it is, I always wish on the eleventh minute of the eleventh hour every night. Even though it isn’t the year of 2011 anymore, it’s very comforting to me. About two years ago I didn’t have any dreams; I didn’t have anything that made me happy. I lost my reason to exist, I lost myself. Actually I did have dreams, but they were just stripped away from me so I had none left. If disappointment had a flavor, it would be very bitter. I wanted to pursue a future in graphic design but my family had other plans. Like any other parent, my mom wished for me to have the brightest future I could get, and in their eyes it was a job in the medical field but a brighter future should be a future where I too am happy shouldn’t it? I wasn’t happy with my situation...
