The average person should drink 7 to 10 average sized glasses of water each day. According to www.wiki.answers.com the average person drinks 0.625 gallons of water per day. To cook and clean the average person could do that on well under a gallon of water a day. For other important stuff such as taking a wash off, not a full fledge shower but instead a quick wash off with a towel and a bowl, or brushing your teeth according to www.ask.com the average person can do this on 8 oz of water a day.
Although moderate caffeine intake is not likely to cause harm to your body, drinks containing caffeine inside of them should not be counted on to meet the daily liquid requirement. We all know to much caffeine will dehydrate you but according to www.mayoclinic.com heavy daily caffeine use between 500 and 600mgs a day can cause insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, nausea, fast or irregular heartbeat, muscle tremors, headaches, and anxiety. These are just a few reasons that caffeine should not be counted on to meet your daily liquid requirements.
It is just me in my household and I have a fresh 24 pack of Dansani bottle water, so if the pipes froze or the well was to run dry I could survive a week with no running water. It would not be comfortable but based on what I have learned during this assignment I would be able to make it.
