SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This work aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the Retention Policy to selected second year students of University of the East-Manila taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy for the school year 2011-2012. The results of the test based on the validated survey and interview questions were recorded, tallied, and categorized. The summary, conclusions, and recommendations are presented below.
Summary of Findings
Based on the data gathered, analyzed, and interpreted, the findings are summarized as follows. 1. The profile of the 100 Second Year BS Accountancy respondents are as follows:
1.1 According to age, majority of our respondents are 17 and 18 years old, the rest are 15, 16, 19, 20, and 21 years old.
1.2 According to gender, majority of our respondents are female with a close difference in percentage as to male respondents.
1.3 Based on their General Weighted Average, majority of our respondents got a grade ranging from 1.51 to 1.75. There are only few students who were able to get a grade ranging from 1.00 to 1.25.
2. Based on our survey, almost all of our respondents are aware of the Retention Policy. Our respondents have chosen BSA as their course as an influence of their parents for the majority while their teachers, relatives, and friends have influenced the rest. Also, majority of our respondents finds the course VERY DIFFICULT while only a few find it EASY. Only a small percentage of our respondents find the Retention Policy as a CHALLENGE or MOTIVATION while most of them finds it as a burden and pressure while studying.
3. Based on the survey, majority of our respondents devotes five hours and more on studying while the rest spends only four hours or less on studying. The Retention Policy also motivates them to study more and only minority has said that it doesn't motivate them to study harder.
