Over the years, there is an increase in teenage suicide rate. The society should be concerned of the reason of why teenagers chose to commit suicide instead of finding a better solution to overcome their obstacles. Depression leads to pessimistic thinking. When negativity takes over all the teenagers with depression, tragedy will begin. Glenn (1986) stated that many warning signs and symptoms of teen suicide feelings are similar to those of depression. Escapism is another reason of teenage suicide. According to Nock (2008) teenagers didn't want to die as much as they wanted to escape from what was going on and at that particular moment dying seemed like the only way out. Teenagers suffer when they cannot solve the problem and tend to find ways to escape the feeling of rejection or hurt. They are afraid to feel solitary and abandoned or even no other just to chat, share their feeling or emotions. In the end, they choose to commit suicide because for them, there is no other way out. Moreover, substance abuse is another reason of teenage suicide. Carey (2007) claimed that psychiatrists argue that the reasons for the increase are the decline in prescriptions of antidepressant drugs like Prozac to young people. Alcohol and drug have depression effect on brain. They will affect teenager’s judgment. Moreover, teens do not realize that the depression effects of alcohol and drug intensity for long run in their life. Therefore, preventions are needed to be done before the situation become worse. First of all, alert for weapon. Friday (1995) stated we must remove the entire weapon from their view. For those teenagers are intention to suicide, they will try to look out the all the weapon are nearest to them and easy to get it, even is a pen. Furthermore, show them love and care.
