The Colegio de San Juan de Letran Student Attendance Monitoring through Biometric Technology can gives an efficient and more reliable monitoring record of students who attended the co-curricular activities of the Letran.
Computer technology is one of the main reasons why almost everything becomes so simple and easy from difficult and complicated way of accomplishing each job almost everything now is being operated and manage through computers. The significant increased in the number of students enrolled in the colegio has created not only job opportunities for the teaching and non-teaching professions, but also resulted to the different problems stemmed from this trend. To resolve this problem, the management of the university has implemented numerous changes. These changes involves adopting and acquiring new technologies such as the computerization of the different transactions particularly the newly implemented enrollment. This helps the colegio to reduce administration time and associated costs. Monitoring of students attendance, specifically those pertaining to school activities is one of the problems that need immediate actions. Every academic year, the university has its scheduled activities and every student is required to attend most of the time. This includes orientation activity for the first year students and transferees, intramurals, seminar-workshops, and others. The researchers aim to developed an Attendance Monitoring System Using Biometric Fingerprint Technology to replace the manual attendance monitoring of Colegio de San Juan de Letran. Biometric Technology describes the range of technologies use to measure, analyze and record are more of these characteristics. The technology is generally used to support business processes which require confirmation of identity. Typically such purposes involve: •Registration or authentication of identity
•Allocation of entitle to people who have registered
•Subsequent verification of identity
•And sometimes identification
The Colegio de San Juan de Letran Student Attendance Monitoring through Biometric Technology can gives an efficient and more reliable monitoring record of students who attend the co-curricular activities of the CSJL.
In determining the level of effectiveness of the proposed system, the proponents aimed to prove that there is no significant difference among the level of effectiveness of the system in terms of functionality, usability, reliability, performance, and supportability of the system.
The purpose of our proposal is to help and easily track the attendance of the students because in monitoring of students attendance, specifically those pertaining to school activities is one of the problems that needs immediate actions. Every academic year, the college has its scheduled activities and every student is required to attend most of the time. The director of Student Affairs directed the Students Supreme Council and all Student Body Organization to conduct the monitoring procedures, consolidation of individual attendance and recordkeeping of student participation. The processes are done manually where respective colleges or department prepared attendance sheets for specific student event. The attendance sheets will be distributed to the student leaders for the signature before or during the programs activities. After the attendance signing, attendance sheets will be collected and submitted to the organizers of the program for filling and consolidation. Sometimes, the student leaders forgot to submit the attendance sheet on its validity time. The researchers aims to developed Attendance Monitoring System Using Biometric Fingerprint Technology to replace the manual attendance monitoring of Colegio de San Juan de Letran. Since the initial purpose of this study was intended to use in monitoring and record keeping of the attendance of the students who attended the...
