Attending distance learning is convenient, and works with everyone’s daily lives. However there are many things that can factor into not being able to succeed in this type of environment. When approaching distance learning, the student needs to master the tools and skills that will better help them in completing their education. Without doing so there is little chance that you can survive the challenges that come along with distance learning here at Axia College.
The first concept that students need to understand is the definition of distance learning. With traditional college you would have set times to be on campus and in class. You along with fellow students would be in the same room, learning about topics at the same time and pace. With distance learning, your teacher, classmates, and you yourself are spread out all over the world. Distance learning provides the student to have the option of not devoting their entire lives and time to college with the help of technology. Technology enables teachers to educate students no matter their distance from each other. Distance learning has advantages and disadvantages as would a traditional college. Students who take on distance learning need the drive and willpower because everything depends on them. The key to surviving in this type of environment is to skillfully communicate with your teachers and classmates.
Insuring academic integrity is the top priority for a distance learning school and should be as well with the student. Making sure that your work is one hundred percent your own will not only enable the student to fully learn and retain the information they are learning, but will better equip them for their career as well. If you do plagiarize someone else’s work, you run the risk of getting caught, and ruining your educational career. At times it may be challenging to put an idea or topic in your own words.
