When Planning to Marry a Beautiful Woman
——an essay on women’s beauty for a men’s magazine
Under the influence of the Masculine Culture,the society has double standards on the two genders. When choosing a partner to spend the rest of life with, men are very sensitive to women's appearance and attractiveness,while women,differently,seem to put more emphasis on men's capability and salary. A man,especially a young man,always put a woman’beauty over her characters, status, and the state of the economy. As a result,there is the fairytale of Cinderella and her crystal shoes,the news about a marriage between a beauty and a billionaire, and the Chinese saying that a talented guy and a beautiful lady make a perfect couple. Then what does a beautiful woman look like in a man’s eyes? As Jeanna Bryner said in the article Why Beautiful Women Marry Less Attractive Men, there are some universal standards about it, including large eyes, "baby face" features, symmetric faces, so-called average faces, and specific waist-hip ratios in men versus women. However,are they the indispensable elements which make a qualified wife? Take Jennifer Aniston as an example,it is reported that she spends over US$150,000 per year on cosmetics and countless hours working out to maintain her figure,her relationship with Justin Theroux is often cited in the press as troublesome due to her beauty regime.

Then,is it a right idea that a man should not merry a beauty? It is said by a French author that beauty is a paradise to eyes, a hell to the soul,and a purgatory to purse. Beautiful women are widely believed to be too choosy, too demanding, and will not compromise. Their luxury and their happiness is always number one priority. Besides,the worst part is that they know they are in high demand and there are always other men out there who are willing to offer the type of luxury for them. As a song sings ”When you're in love with a beautiful woman. You know it's hard. Everybody wants her ....
