1. Introduction
In order to apply the theory learned in the Human Resource Management course, I have chosen a company that activates in the construction field and supplies metal-based components, systems and integrated solutions to the construction and mechanical engineering industries. Moreover, I have chosen Ruukki because during my third year I did an internship in their HR department and got really familiar with their processes in this area.
In this paper, I will start with a short description of the company and gradually present the general strategy of the company, its HR function, the HR strategy and its practical results. For a broader view, I included a short analysis of the external and internal environment using the PORTER model and the SWOT analysis. Next, I analysed whether the HR function and HR strategy are the most suitable for this company and come up with personal recommendations. In the last part of the project, I developed an action plan and discussed upon the possible resistances to change encountered at its implementation. And I sum up with conclusions.
The way in which the research was conducted includes a research on the online business magazines and websites about the Human Resources Management in this specific market segment, the website of the company and an interview with the Country HR Manager in Romania and... [continues]
