Executive Summary

This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the current and prospective Human resource practices of Make My Trip Pvt. Ltd. In the case of this paper, the data has been collected through Qualitative analysis, which involved interviews with Head HR, Rohit Hasteer; Deputy Manager, Ravi Mishra, and Senior Travel Coordinator, Siddarth Shankar Deb. The paper also employs unobtrusive methods which include Content analysis of company website and life histories. In order to effectively analyse the Human resource strategies an obtrusive and unobtrusive research method has been adopted.

Results of data analyzed show that the Human resource practice adopted is effective however they do have minor floss. In particular, Orientation program, Performance appraisal, Benefit plan and Job Evaluation method is poor in the areas HR management.

The report finds the prospects of the company in its current position are positive but the few areas of weakness require upgradation of practice and remedial action by management.

Recommendation discussion includes introduction of new practices and new changes like: • After Recruitment and selection process there should be an Orientation program about the organization and rules and regulation because it portraits the organization aptly. • An addition of a performance appraisal form which includes all the forms of appraisal like 360 degree appraisal method. • New benefit plans should be added to motivate employees to be loyal to the organization.

The report also investigates the fact that the analysis conducted has limitations. Some of the limitation includes The sample size is small and these datum have been collected only with in the boundary. So it depends upon the samples and we need further studies about HR Strategies followed in Make My Trip. This survey has been conducted through telephonic interview and Emails, so it’s difficult to get proper response from some of the employees and the employees were so busy that some of them refused to answer.

Introduction

“The Human Resources Management (HRM) function includes a variety of activities, and key among them is deciding what staffing needs you have and whether to use independent contractors or hire employees to fill these needs, recruiting and training the best employees, ensuring they are high performers, dealing with performance issues, and ensuring your personnel and management practices conform to various regulations. Activities also include managing your approach to employee benefits and compensation, employee records and personnel policies.”( McNamara)

Today HR professionals are developing schemes to actively involve all employees in strategic planning with the aim of making every employee productively contribute to the growth of the company. Individual employees no longer work in isolation but as part of a team to accomplish the company’s objectives. HR managers are fully alive to the fact that any outside impression of an organization can be badly impaired by disgruntled employees and that can adversely impact company sales.

Drawing up action plans and setting goals are the natural follow-up measures after evolving strategies. Framing action plans and involve all employees so that they can responsibly fulfill their part towards accomplishing the set goals.

A sense of dedication and commitment on the part of each individual employee is therefore crucial for a company to achieve its business goals. It is the ultimate responsibility of the HR managers to instill in all employees a spirit of...
