MBM 803/MHM 810 - HRM – INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT
Turn in: Between 15 – 18th January 2013 to the Respective Class Reps 25 Marks
ALL Topics should be distributed – a Max. of 3 people per topic – to both MBM and MHM

The aim of this assignment in HRM is to: - Familiarize you with current issues in HRM - relevant theories, key literature and contemporary research and challenges in the area - Instill the value of being and keeping abreast of current issues in HRM in order to remain ahead of ways in which to increase organizational effectiveness through people - Motivate you to discuss and critique rhetoric with practice - Encourage you to assess if successful HR practices may be applicable across organizations/in different situations. The listed issues/concepts impact on human resource management in organizations. Prepare and write up a term paper based on the issue/concept listed against your name, using the following guiding questions: • (a) Review the various definitions of the issue/concept • (b) Provide theoretical explanation(s) of the issue/concept • (c) Critically evaluate the major successes and challenges in the o application of the issue/concept in human resource management in the industry/sector relevant to your specialization in Kenyan and/or o global organizations. Make a conclusion on this. • (d) Provide suggestions for application of the issue/concept for effective management o of human resources

Strategic fit express the degree to which an organization is matching its resources and capabilities with the opportunities in the external environment.
