TEAM WORK IN APPLE INC.
One of the biggest focuses of Apple Inc is its team work. In its mission statement, Apple says that its main desire is to work together and improve the environment by working together with its employees and the rest of the world.
Teamwork is essential to Apple's success, for the job is too big to be done by one person. Individuals are encouraged to interact with all levels of management, sharing ideas and suggestions to improve Apple's effectiveness and quality of life. It takes all of employees to win. We support each other and share the victories and rewards together. We are enthusiastic about what we do.
Steve Jobs, as CEO of the world's largest tech company, was often identified as the singular face of Apple. It was considered that he was the man who is the energy and creative spirit behind the company, but Apple is much more than just Steve Jobs.
Jobs himself has said so in the past."Apple is an incredibly collaborative company. Teamwork is dependent on trusting the other folks to come through with their part without watching them all the time. We're great at figuring out how to divide things up into these great teams that we have and all work on the same thing, touch bases frequently and bring it all together into a product."
At another place, jobs went like "That’s how I see business. Great things in business are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people." 1. Cross Functional Teams at Apple Inc.:
Apple is now almost the most valuable company in the world due in large to the organizations ability to keep innovating. Year after year, Apple keeps coming out with revolutionary and beautiful products such as the iPhone and the iPad and the iPod Nano and the list goes on and on. Yet, Apple seems to stick to a very strict hierarchical organization structure filled with top secret research and projects where one employee has no idea what another one is doing. However, If looked closely, one will find a different

At ICU Medical Inc., teams haven’t always been the answer. A maker of medical devices, the San Clemente, California company was founded in 1984 by current chief executive officer Dr. George Lopez. At first, most of the major decisions were made by Lopez. Business was good – so good, in fact – that the company was ready for a public offering by the early 1990s. The company’s products were in high demand, but dealing with that demand “was an overwhelming task for one entrepreneur CEO,” states Lopez.…

The article says, “The key to Jobs’ success is a combination of quality, innovation, and market strategies that were designed extremely carefully” (postcron). He wasn’t the one who actually made the first Apple computer, it was his partner, Steve Wozniak. Steve Wozniak was a great guy because all he cared about was making technology, unlike Steve Jobs whose main goal was to make money. Steve Wozniak also believes that Steve Jobs had some knowledge to make money. Steve Wozniak says, “You really need the vision like Steve Jobs had, but the vision doesn't go anywhere if you try to jump in and build products before they are cost effective for what they do, return on investment is there” (business insider). Steve Jobs looked everything in a different way. He looked at this opportunity as an art and technology combined. For example, swishing with just one finger to see the next page on the touch screen. These innovations shaped our generation's…

The vision statement of the organization states, "Man is the creator of change in this world. As such he should be above systems and structures, and not subordinate to them" (Authorstream.com, 2011). Apple’s vision is geared more toward ensuring that individuals and organizations master the tasks of customer interaction, strategic planning to fulfill objectives, and to assist in the financial and operational structure of an organization. Through the corporate philosophy of play hard, work hard, Apple Inc.’s mission statement “is committed to bringing the best personal computing experience to students, educators, creative professionals and consumers around the world through its innovative hardware, software and internet offerings” (Lewis, 2012, Para. 1).…

To make this “collaboration” happen, Jobs relied heavily on the hiring process. He would have candidates meet the top leaders of Apple. This included guys such as Cook, Tevanian, Schiller, Rubinstein, and Ive. After the interview, he would meet with his leaders without the candidate and decide whether the person would fit in at Apple. Jobs goal with all of this was to prevent what he called “the bozo explosion.” Jobs explained that “the bozo explosion” is when a company becomes loaded down with second-rate talent. Jobs’ hiring process took the candidate not only to the area they would be working in, but through other departments and had the candidates talk to them to see how they would fit in.…

After his return to Apple the iPod was released, followed by iTunes, then the iPhone and soon will come the iCloud. Jobs has managed to develop products ahead of the desires of the market by spending “almost all his time internally with roughly a hundred experts in software, hardware, design, and the technologies of metal, plastic, and glass” (Conaty, B. and Charan, R., 2010). According to the same authors, he brings this group together on a weekly basis to review the products that they are working on and see what problems they may be having.…

Apple has several goals in different areas. Two that stand out to me are about finance and the environment. From the environmental perspective, Apple’s goal is “to power every Apple facility entirely with energy from renewable sources — solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal.”3…
