Module Objectives
The aim of the module is to critically evaluate the strategies of firms operating in an international context.   This will identify different strategic options, implications for organisational structure, control and knowledge transfer.   The module will also evaluate different modes of entry into international markets.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding

On completion of this module the student will:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical background to the internationalisation of the firm.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the strategies available to international firms and their implications for structure, control and knowledge transfer.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of market entry strategies for firms operating in international markets.
