S T A T U T E S
on   the   Constitutions of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts
Regulating Apostolate, Mission and Social Services
 
 Introduction
We, the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Province-Philippines , called to follow Christ in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, under the inspiration of   Fr. Simpliciano of the Nativity, ofm   in order to provide for the life of the fraternal community and specifically for its organization and function, do establish and adopt these Statutes.
All regulations not in accordance with these present Provincial Statutes are abrogated [cf. General Constitutions of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts].
From the General Statutes
 
1.The missions of our Congregation   can be structured juridically in:

Province
Delegation(general or provincial)
House or Mission House

2. Our missionary activity consists principally in witnessing to the Gospel of the Beatitudes with fidelity to the Holy Vows and to our Rule of Life   and in absolute faithfulness to Holy MotherChurch. We are also dedicated to the proclamation of the gospel in modes and forms allowed by the Church and according to the territories where we are sent to work.

3.The sisters who go to the missions shall prepare proficiently for the exercise of apostolic activity, while learning the language, the customs and the history and religious and cultural traditions of the people among which they shall be sent.

4. The missionary vocation, in its deepest meaning a gift of the Holy Spirit, must demonstrate the following necessary characteristics:

  * innate capacity to adapt to new situations
  * voluntary desire to work in the missions
  * acceptance and mandate from the part of the Church
  * good mental and physical health

5.It is the task of the Mother General to accept, with the consent of her Council, a mission from the Local Ordinary and to erect a house in that place according to law and... [continues]
