STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Pursuit of knowledge has always been my obsession and the propelling force behind all my achievements. My decision to pursue graduate study at your university blends harmoniously with my eventual career objective of taking a research-oriented career in Computer Science.
Engineering is a science that deals with practical application. Engineering not only imparts knowledge but also lays emphasis on the individual. My keen interest to learn new things when combined by inner desire enabled me to acquire significant knowledge on various aspects of science and technology. Right from my childhood I had good foundation on various aspects of science and technology. My zeal was insatiable and the curiosity to know “how such” mechanisms work engraved in me, which has been the primary reason behind my choice of engineering as a career.
I was brought up in Warangal. I finished my schooling from Ratnam High School which is one of the highly esteemed educational institutions in state. It was here, at a very early age that
I was attracted to this very intriguing field of Computers. I had completed my ten years of schooling at the same place. Fortunately I was bought up in an atmosphere which has a strong inclination towards science and technology. During childhood I had the curiosity to know the wonder being created by “COMPUTERS”. We were a fortunate lot as we were taught the subjects along with the practical aspects which made me develop a keen interest towards science.
We were also exposed to basic computer courses. The science fairs, which we attended, provided a clear insight into practical aspects which made me develop a penchant towards the field of science. My performance was always at the zenith in academics .I scored good in my tenth standard. My genuine interest towards both these subjects guided me in opting MPC(Maths,
Physics, Chemistry) for my class XII education. My excellent performance continued even in my class XII. I scored 72% in my class

My interest in science developed early in high school through the encouraging words of a biology teacher. That carried on in my undergraduate career when I decided to major in Biomedical Physics, a unique and small degree program, which helped me integrate my interest in physical science with medicine. It became evident that I was to pursue a career in the science field, and during my time in 4-H I discovered the desire to serve others.…

    Women In Science Camp

I can recall three pivotal moments in my education paths in science and engineering. The foremost occurred in sixth grade when I was selected out of 130 females in my grade to attend the Women in Science camp. Here I learned about the many professions scientist can engage in, from forensics to astronomy. At this camp, I made it a goal to be a “woman in science.” At the time, I did not know specifically what type of science I wanted to become an expert in, but I narrowed it down with another major experience two summers ago at a camp referred to as the South Central Health Careers Camp. During the week, I was exposed to a variety of lines of work in the medical field, anything ranging from pharmaceutical practices to rehabilitation using electrical…

Thus began my movement in high school and undergraduate sciences. As I began to read these chemistry and physics books, I noticed that math played an integral part in many higher order sciences. No longer could I put learning math proficiently off, as it was impeding me. And so I powered through mathematics, learning algebra and calculus just to understand physics and chemistry. Before I knew it, I was in high school. Many of my peers struggled with their workload, but I realized that all I had to do was continue learning the way I always had,…

With a pair of binoculars, a magnifying glass, and a notepad, one of the most exhilarating parts of my childhood was rushing outside into my backyard and watching for hours on end spiders spinning delicate webs, birds feeding their young, the interactions within a decaying tree stump ecosystem, and countless of other animals going about their lives. I would often sit absolutely still, quietly sketching what I observed, and constantly wondering why things were the way they were and how. This curiosity and growing interest for how things in the world simply function and how I can use that knowledge to solve problems prevalent today to make a change eventually led to my passion for science, technology, and mathematics fields and partially my success…

“Engineering is not merely knowing and being knowledgeable, like a walking encyclopaedia; engineering is not merely analysis; engineering is not merely the possession of the capacity to get elegant solutions to non-existent engineering problems; engineering is practicing the art of the organised forcing of technological change… Engineers operate at the interface of science and society.” - Dean Gordon Brown. Prior to starting secondary school at Spotswood College at the age of 13, I had little knowledge of the vast opportunities that the field of science offers, nor did I realise how intriguing and exciting science can be. It was in my first year at high school that was introduced to general science, a subject which I would continue to study for three years. I found that the areas within the science curriculum that I enjoyed the most were practical, real-life situations that were relevant to the real world, not just the world within the school laboratory. The process of applying scientific methods to solve real-life problems continued to interest and intrigue me throughout my years of studying general science, and I soon realised that science was the field that I wanted a career in. This idea hasn’t changed. In my second year of high school at Spotswood College, I was offered the chance to take part in an extension program in Chemistry before school three times a week, as well as continuing with general science as a subject. Throughout this year, I was continually amazed at the many different fields that chemistry, and also science as a whole, is composed of, yet once again it was the real-life, real-world applications that interested me. It was at this time that I started researching engineering as a career option. By the time I reached Year 12, I had to decide which fields of science I wanted to continue studying in. Throughout my previous years at high school I had found that it was the fields of…
