The State of DC Public Schools

Even though the amount of money spend per student is high is doesn't account for the high failure rate of students, and those who are minorities of the public school system.
The Nations Capital, Home of the White House, the United States Government, and everything else that is critical to the success of this country, we lead the way, set the example when it comes to life in general, and especially education. In regards to education that is so far from what is true. The DC Public School system was majority ran by whites until the mid-1970’s, and before that time the level and quality of education for the students were high with high success rates, and yes at the beginning the educational structure was tailored to suit the success of the white students who went on to attend college and lead successful lives. Since that time the DC school system has seen significant changes from school integration, and majority of the white students leaving the school system, to it’s current state now of total chaos with the race population of 84.4 % Black.
While no one can fully answer why or how things began to get in the current state that the school system is dealing with now, the true and total problem is that the students are the ones who are suffering when it comes to a good quality education. There is a totally breakdown when you take a look at the school system as a whole. There are teachers who aren’t fully qualified to teach, and there are teachers who aren’t too concerned about teaching. There are also teachers who give there all to there students but aren’t provided with the necessary resources to ensure that the students take what they need from the class and use it in some way towards a more productive life.
