I enjoyed reading “Stargirl” because the characters reaction to Stargirl’s uniqueness is very sensible even though it’s a non- fiction book. “Stargirl” shows us how much people discriminate against other people that have their own exclusive way of life. It present to us that we often do not have as open of a mind as we should to others that are different than us, and this book does a good job of helping me to realize that. I also admired Stargirl’s personality. Stargirl stays true to herself and didn’t give into the pressure of fitting in. She stands out from the rest of the conformist students because she was being herself.
If you were the author of this novel, what would you change?
If I was the author of this novel, I would have changed the point of views of the characters. “Stargirl” had only one point of view and that was Leo. As a reader, I would have liked to know what the other characters perspective. I want to know what the other characters thoughts were, like I know Leo’s. In Leo’s point of view he doesn’t know what the other characters were thinking. If I could I would change it so that I would know what all the characters in the novel were thinking.
Would you recommend this book to others? Why or Why not?
This book is definitely worth the time. It’s a short and easy read. I guarantee that you won’t be able to put the book down once you’ve started. Each character in “Stargirl” is all interesting and diverse from each other. The characters are also easy to relate to and what they are feeling about Stargirl because it’s so easy to love her and hate her at the same time. It's a great book for any age, especially for those going through their teenage or pre- teenage years. “Stargirl” is a truly perfect explanation of high school conformity vs. individuality, and a great display of an outlook on life. So, in conclusion, I would greatly recommend it to anyone that needs a good story to...
