Application Architecture and Design Process
Applications are designed using a system development life cycle (SDLC), which goes through many phases and includes requirements such as design, testing, implementation, and finally the routine maintenance after completion and implementation. This information system will need to have a structured arrangement of employees, processes, interfaces, data, networks, and current technology. The new system will be used by Riordan to interact with one another on a daily basis to better support their operations and also to improve how they are able to deal with the problems that arise. This application design process begins by designing a suitable information system for Riordan Manufacturing, Inc. which is a company that has locations in the United States and China. They are considered to be an industry leader in the field of plastic injection molding.
The best way to begin this design process for Riordan would be to identify the processes with them and then decide how these operations fit along with what functions they perform for the company. These processes as they are identified will then be figured into the new system and will be processed into a data flow diagram to better show how it all comes together. The data flow diagrams will provide a comprehensive way for everyone who is involved at the meetings with a key visual tool of how each phase leads to another and makes sense on the path it will be designed to take.
