CASE STUDY

I. Introduction

A Physical education teacher of one of the public school in cavite,

accidentally fell in love with her 24 years old fourth year student

, The relationship started with a simple exchanging of celphone

numbers and texting and it developed later into a much deeper

relationship. Although they are not minors anymore their relationship

is still forbidden because she is his teacher, and it is morally wrong.

Their relationship cause an alarm to the school principal and even to

the faculty members.

ABSTRACT OF THE CASE

Ms. Edlyn V. Cruz, 25 years old, a Physical education teacher of one of the public school in cavite, accidentally fell in love with her 24 years old fourth year student named Mr. Jack Sanchez, The relationship started with a simple exchanging of celphone numbers and texting and it developed later into a much deeper relationship. Although they are not minors anymore their relationship is still forbidden because she is his teacher, and it is morally wrong.

Their relationship cause an alarm to the school principal and even to the faculty members.

OBJECTIVES

1. To have a harmonious relationship with her school principal and co- teachers. 2. Talk to her to convince her boyfriend to transfer to another school to avoid gossip, so that they are free to continue their relationship. 3. To uphold understanding and support among the faculty officers and members.

BASIC CONSIDERATIONS

1. School principal together with the faculty club officers to make decisions 2. Confidence on the decision of the teacher concern to think possible solution or to discern

ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION ( ACA )

1. Call a meeting among faculty members 2. Talk personally to Ms. Edlyn for possible solution of the problem 3. Ms. Edlyn should be convinced that her boyfriend be transferred to another school to avoid gossip, and ask an understanding from her faculty members

ANALYSIS

1. ACA 1 seeks to lessen the unfair judgement to Ms. Edlyn through dialogue from fellow employees. Having an open forum is advisable to settle the issue. 2. ACA 2 Gives hope to the administration and institution to clear the mess. 3. ACA 3 Requires self-esteem or acceptance needs as human beings, they need to belong and to be accepted by others.

The School principal will be understood as a leader because as a leader, she consults ideas of all her subordinates and by doing that, these people realize their importance in the institution. And her move in calling the attention of Ms. Edlyn privately is a sign of an educated, sincere, and concerned administrator.

PLAN OF ACTION

1. Conduct an open forum among faculty members and discuss or reiterate the do’s and don’ts of a teacher, Especially the code of ethics for teachers so that romantic relationship of teacher and students can be avoided. 2. Strengthen the vision and mission of the school through involvement of personnel.
