In today’s society, it is important to keep children active and healthy. It is so that they don’t become lazy and unmotivated. By playing sports it is a way for kids to become active and sociable with other kids around them rather than having them sit on the computer all day or watching T.V. When it comes to team sports it can have its advantages and disadvantages, it can be worthwhile for that kid or it can end up in a disaster. Being in a team sport takes effort and dedication, when a team member is down and was counting on you to be there, then it might leave the team at risk of losing the game. But being in a team makes oneself feel wanted and sometimes even secure. As for parents, some don’t see what their kids want. They worry about their kids getting hurt or even severally injured. And as for that other half of parents, they don’t worry about their kids getting hurt at all. They just want their kids to have fun and enjoy the company of other kids.
Some sports can be very dangerous and violent and that can sometimes worry the parent, but not the kid because all they want to do is have fun and not have to worry about those kinds of things. In football, there are many physical contact involved to bring down the other opponent or to stop them from making a touchdown. Not only do injuries happen on the field during games, but also during practices as well. Anything can happen. A common injury that most football players encounter is concussions. It doesn’t matter if a player is big or small, an adolescent or an adult, that injury can still happen to anyone that plays football. Researchers at the Center for Injury Biomechanics found that even though youth league players have few and lower magnitude head impacts than high school and college players, high magnitude hits do occur and happen during most football practices.
