Introduction
This essay will show the meaning of spiritual gifts, which are supernatural gifts that God has blessed Christians with. These gifts can be used for the purpose of everyday life, edification of gifts, and to usage and development of spiritual gifts. When individual obtain spiritual gifts there are steps Christian need to fully explore in each gift that they may have. The Bible speaks on twenty-three gifts but this paper will speak on the ministerial gifts of faith, healing, prophecy, knowledge and understanding, and the interpretation of the tongue .

Spiritual gift is a Greek word used in relation (relation to what). A spiritual gift is charisma meaning a free and undeserved gift, unmerited favor. Spiritual gifts are not natural talents, but are special Spirit empowered abilities for service to the body of Christ. A spiritual gift is a God-given capacity through which the Holy Spirit supernaturally ministers to the body through the channel of the spirit of God; who supernaturally touches the lives of other people. Spiritual gifts are characteristics of Jesus Christ that are to be manifest through the body corporate just as they were manifested through the body Incarnate.

The spiritual gifts as defined in 1 Cor 12, enable an individual to witness to others as to the validity of Christ by means of supernatural workings in ways that could only be done by Christ. Christ commands us to continue witnessing for Him; spiritual gifts are ways that ministers can continue to witness. This is one thing we see with Christ as he ministered here on earth (Acts 2:22). All throughout Christ’s ministry he went about performing miracles, healings, demonstrating faith, prophesying, and discerning spirits. This was a great testament and authentication of the validity of his ministry. Furthermore, many gifts followed the apostles with their ministry as well.
These too were a sign to both believers and unbelievers. So following that same thought pattern, we too have gifts to testify, glorify and validate Christ as authentic and personal. Because of God’s generosity spiritual gifts exist within every believer. The gifts are the tools by which Christ works within the life of believers to edify and strengthen the church. Through these gifts individuals bring glory and honor to God and bless believers and non-believers alike.

Spiritual gifts can be given to individuals to be shared. Spiritual gifts are meant to honor God, rejuvenate the Church, and reach a lost generation for Christ. They are not gifts to be hidden or tucked away in a closet, or enclosed within a box. These gifts are given by the spirit to be used by the spirit. The origin of these special gifts never begins with humanity but always with the divine. God is the giver of these gifts.

Theme 1: Types of Gifts
The purpose of spiritual gifts is to build up the church. Some spiritual gifts are solely for the benefit of believers while others benefit non-believers. God's followers should work together with their spiritual gifts as a body to build up the church. There are three types of gifts: Ministerial Gifts, Motivational Gifts, and Manifestation Gifts. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the ministerial gifts. In King James Bible 1st Corinthians 12 gives the different types of spiritual gifts. These gifts are of faith, healing, prophecy, knowledge and understanding, and the interpretation of the tongue .

Faith is a gift that takes place when the Holy Spirit enables you to participate in the unshakable faith of Jesus Christ and expect the impossible to become possible. (1 Cor. 12:9). Miracles refer to superseding of natural law, when the Holy Spirit allows you to share in Christ's...
