Good afternoon. I quote “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”. Leadership is more than leading. We all know this. Why do we say so? Being a leader is not so simple. It is not only to rule or direct others but it is to keep an oath. The oath of honesty and simple rules. What other people would think about leadership is domination. But it is not domination that best describes leadership. A true leader thinks differently. He is bound to keep those actions on which would truly have a beneficent purpose. He who is a leader is an inspiration to other people. What I truly believe is that it is not about experience that a leader brings out success in him but it is about what he has achieved or accomplished that is shown in his character that brings out success. Again, it is not so simple to call yourself a leader. Following simple things like being helpful or being organized, trained, and motivational isn’t the only words that strike our minds when we think about leadership. We call him a leader whose character and actions are brought out through achievement. An African proverb, I quote “Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors.” These few words hold up a huge meaning. This is wisdom that has the real essence of life lesson. It simply means that we must experience obstacles to achieve goals. Obstacles help us build and learn the skills we need to succeed. We have to be strong in order to move through whatever we want to get through. And in order to be strong we need to believe in ourselves. If we believe we could achieve something, we surely can. Achievement brings out the character in us. Having to be a leader does not only mean accomplishment. Character matters thoroughly at the same time. Therefore I conclude by saying, it not only character or it is not only accomplishment that could make us a good leader .we should use both sources equally and choose the right path.
