High School and Head Girl
Good morning, my name is ... and I have been entrusted the responsibility of leading the school as the HEAD GIRL for the year 2012-13 by my teachers. Today I take this opportunity to thank all my teachers for having faith in my abilities, I assure you all that I will live up to your expectations.
I joined ... last year and the most remarkable thing about this school is the warmth and feeling of belonging that I felt the moment I walked through the gates. So to my friends here I would like to say that we are one big family and we need to value each other to bring about growth of an individual as well as the school as a whole.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A HEAD GIRL? Well this is the question I asked myself when my name was announced. And the answer that came to my mind is-
i) to help the juniors ii) carry out duties properly iii) maintain discipline iv) be a role model for other girls and to represent all the girls of the school. True leadership is a quality many aspire, and few truly obtain... because in order to become a leader you must first learn to follow. Follow with an open mind, with focus, and with purpose. Being an effective leader means choosing the right course of action, all the while remembering those who will be affected by your decisions. A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. This type of person does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the quality of their actions and the integrity of their intent. They say variety is the spice of life and I endorse this philosophy in every way possible. Whether you are academically minded, an athlete, a ‘drama queen’ or creatively inspired, I along with y council members will help you to realize your potential and accomplish anything you set your mind to. I truly believe that extra-curricular activities are an integral part of our personality development. Not only do

There are many definitions of leadership. The Collins English dictionary defines leadership as “the leader(s) of a party or group.” Yet true leadership is much more than that. A leader can be the chief executive officer of an organization, or a first year employee who leads his or her team to success behind the scenes. A leader might lead through official authority and power, yet just as often great leaders lead through inspiration, persuasion and personal connections. Teaching others to be a leader is a daunting task within itself (Pankaew, 2013).…

To me, leadership is leading by example. My years in high school have shown me that the person who builds people up, and shows kindness is more of a leader than someone who commands and controls people. I strive to be this kind, caring person who others can look up to. As I grow older, I hope that by doing the right things, I can inspire others to do the same.…

A leader is someone who can be turned to in the absence of knowledge or direction and will either have the answer or know where to get the answer.…
