Southeast Christian Church Student Ministries
By: Ashton L.

1 Timothy 4:12 says “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

On April 24, 2009
The Block Student Ministry Center opened at the Blankenbaker Campus where more than 2,000 junior high and high school students attended the Launch Party.
The Block is the result of something that the Holy Spirit began stirring in the hearts of the leadership of Southeast Christian Church several years ago.
Two verses really lift up the heartbeat behind the Block.

Judges 2:10 says “After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the Lord, nor what he had done for Israel. One generation said, ‘as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord’, but then the next generation neither knew him nor what he had done.”

Luke 1:17 gives the commission of John the Baptist as this, “and he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous-to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Student Ministry is grateful that the Southeast family, as a community, is choosing to invest in a generation that most have given up on. With God's leading, their church family wants to awaken a generation to the glory of God. There are thousands upon thousands of UN-churched teenagers in Louisville, and one by one they want to introduce them to the Savior of the world. The Block is more than a place to go, it's a place to be, belong, and become. The Block is more than a building, it is a starting place to reveal who God is, connect to Jesus and his family, and be sent out to advance the kingdom with our everyday lives. The Block is the sending place for new generation of Christ followers.

The Block Student Ministry Center is located on the Blankenbaker Campus

It is common to hear and feel a sense of gratitude and positive pride that LBC is an excellent church from both leadership on the platform and the small group settings participant. Any faults that could be found are minor, and pale in comparison to many of the issues that a church could face. LBC is a regional church with multiple campus locations strategically selected for maximum impact to reach Kanas City with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. This as a result of a shared vision and cooperation of the staff, members, and Pastor Steve Dighton’s previous leadership as the founding pastor. LBC is also known as the flagship conservative evangelical church in KC. Despite LBC’s current size it has maintained a small church…

    My Philosophy of Ministry

    • 430 Words
    • 2 Pages

The second part of my philosophy of ministry is to train leaders. A leader in the church is a godly servant who is influencing others in the church. Building leadership development in the local church is vital to the continual growth of the ministry (Acts 6: 3-4; 2 Tim. 2:2). I want to always be in the process of training individuals and preparing them to step into a leadership position. The leadership training process needs to include not only theological study and “hands-on” involvement, but community and relationship development as well.…

Discipleship is extremely important to me because I want to be someone who embraces and assists in spreading God’s teaching to others, to help empower people to know, deeply and wholeheartedly, their God given gifts; to help them know that God has created them in His image that He has a plan for their life. I will combine with Liberty’s mission and my personal faith and beliefs to contribute a well thought out plan to enable each student to reach their goal in serving Christ and worshipping.…
