ABSTRACT
Ready-mix concrete (RMC) is a type of concrete that is manufactured in a factory or batching plant, according to a set recipe and then delivered to the work site, by truck mounted transit mixers. This results in a precise mixture allowing speciality concrete mixtures to be developed and implemented on construction sites.
For owner the cost involved in testing is exempted in case of RMC. This report deals with description of RMC plant, its functioning, special properties and quality of concrete obtained, scope of this industry in India, advantages and limitations.

OBJECTIVE
The main aim to choose the topic is to create awareness amongst the Civil Engineers about features of RMC and reasons for its use over site mixed concrete. A Civil Engineer should know the technicality of RMC and operational work so as to ensure quality of work.
